At STC Freight, we believe in blending the spirit of community with the joy of giving. One of the avenues through which we express this belief is by participating in the Annual Citrus Growers Charity Golf Day. In this event, held at the picturesque Eshowe Hills Golf Course, golf enthusiasts, local businesses, and generous hearts come together to raise funds for a good cause.
Involvement in the Annual Citrus Growers Charity Golf Day
The Eshowe Hills Golf Course transforms into a festive playground each October, bringing together over 100 players for a fun-filled golf day. Our contribution to this event is multifaceted. We do a few different things for this event. We bring a vehicle to the Eshowe golf course and decorate it. We also provide food and drinks to keep everyone energised and having fun.
Adding a playful twist this year, we set up a mini driving range right from our truck. By laying down artificial turf in the truck, we created a makeshift tee-off point, allowing participants to hit balls in a fun activity that added to the day’s excitement.
Additionally, we add a unique touch to the event by inviting a local PGA professional. This professional not only coordinates the golf activities but also interacts warmly with the golfers, encouraging them to contribute to the charity.
2023 Event Highlights
The Charity Golf Day this year unfolded on Friday, 14 October, commencing precisely at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start. The participants were welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere as they prepared for a delightful day on the golf course. A highlight of the day was the Best Dressed Award, encouraging participants to display their creative flair through their attire, adding a spirited dimension to the event.
The day ended with a prize-giving ceremony and a delightful dinner, providing an opportunity for sharing laughter and recounting the day’s experiences.
This year marked our third consecutive year of involvement, and it was an exceptional experience.

Looking Ahead
We cherish the relationships formed, the funds raised, and the smiles shared during the Annual Citrus Growers Charity Golf Day. Reflecting on the enriching experiences of the past three years, we look forward with eagerness to many more years of engagement in this event.
The Annual Citrus Growers Charity Golf Day is more than a golf event; it embodies the essence of community, generosity, and the collective joy derived from rallying together for a commendable cause. At STC, we are privileged to partake in this tradition and eagerly anticipate our continued contribution and participation in the forthcoming years.
