STC Freight celebrated its participation in the 31st Annual Citrus Growers Charity Golf Day on Friday, 11 October 2024. This year’s event was a huge success, attracting 110 golfers. The proceeds from the day raised significant funds for families and organisations in need. Hosted by the Nkwalini Citrus Growers Association (NCGA), the charity golf day has become a staple in the community’s calendar, and 2024 was no different.
Our Contribution to the Fun at the Citrus Growers Charity Golf Day
STC Freight brought a unique and exciting twist to the event with a series of activities that added to the fun while supporting a great cause:
PGA Pro Golfer Competitions: Golfers had the chance to test their skills in a series of challenges run by a PGA Pro golfer at our stand. The competitions were not only a fun addition but also helped raise extra funds for charity.
The Ultimate Golf Cart Experience: We didn’t just bring a golf cart. We brought a fully converted cart with a sound system, complete with a keg to serve fresh draught beer. This mobile refreshment station became a highlight, keeping spirits high throughout the day.
Braai Delights: To keep golfers energised, we hosted a braai. We offered cheese sausages and boerewors snacks, which were a big hit as participants made their way around the course.
A Day for a Worthy Cause
While the golf and activities were undoubtedly fun, the true heart of the day was the charity. The event featured 10 tee box stands and raised an impressive amount for the NCGA’s charitable efforts. The funds raised will go toward supporting families and organisations that depend on this annual event.
STC Freight proudly played a role in this important day. We thank everyone who participated, whether by playing, donating, or coming along to show support.
See You Next Year!
With the success of this year’s golf day, we’re already looking forward to next year’s event. Whether you’re a seasoned participant or new to the Citrus Growers Charity Golf Day, we can’t wait to see you on the greens in 2025.
